At Last, Spaces In The Home Work After Renovation
Queenslanders have a certain charm, but lack practicality and comfort compared to many modern homes. But they are blessed with potential which is why our client engaged us to transform their Hawthorne property.
For our client it was important that their home captured the true meaning of ‘Queensland lifestyle’. There needed to be a connection from the interior spaces to the outdoors, where our beautiful sub-tropical Brisbane climate can be enjoyed to its fullest.
Queenslanders tend to be quite closed so an open plan living space was important as was additional storage which the original home was lacking.
This magnificent home now offers the charm of a Queenslander with the practicalities of a contemporary home. Downstairs the kitchen was repositioned to allow for the construction of a luxurious lounge space that has a seamless connection to the terrace beyond. The terrace houses the BBQ area which is perfectly positioned in relation to the kitchen. There is now a clearly defined dining area with multiple living spaces. A remodelled contemporary bathroom upstairs and overall improved flow has greatly increased this home’s liveability.
Project Number 080301
In a sea of project homes surrounding the local golf course, a contemporary, streamlined roof breathes new life into the area with its newly created entertainment area design.
Originally from Western Australia, our clients moved to North Lakes and set down their roots in a local community with the most up to date facilities. They had made new friends and planned on staying long-term in their home, but desired a resort-style ambience that could turn their project home into an oasis for their family and their friends.
Client Satisfaction Rating
When we approached Dion, our scope was to open up the back of the house to make the area flow through from the inner living to the outside. Also in the process, we wanted to modernize the kitchen and as with all projects, we also extended the scope to include the main bathroom upstairs. What we have achieved is a very liveable area that flows with a modern workable kitchen.
On Dion’s recommendation, we changed the orientation of the kitchen by extending into what was previously a walkway. I now have a study on the ground floor as recommended by Dion as my original study was upstairs away from the main living area and this new study is well utilized due to its location.
We are very happy with the renovation as designed by dion seminara architecture.
