Expanded Outdoor Entertaining Area including Pool Pavilion in Sherwood
The owners of this home in Sherwood had recently immigrated from South Africa. As they were completely new to tropical climate, they asked me for a professional advice and design service. They highly valued professional design input since they had already used similar services in the past. Now they were seeking to harness the benefits of our climate while limiting the negatives aspects. The new home they had purchased did not have any connection to its pool area. Indeed the main living hub of the home was completely detached from the pool space.
The client’s engaged my lifestyle design assessment. Thus I spent several hours with the clients at their home inspecting the pool, outdoor are and the design and layout of the existing home. After listening to the clients explaining their lifestyle and preferences I created a design to meet their needs.
Expanded outdoor entertaining area details
The design entailed providing a covered structure, a pavilion on the poolside. This pavilion area was also designed to include a barbeque area and provide a relaxing and enjoyable place for the family and their friends.
A second small renovation was to create a study on the first floor of the home. In doing so I designed the room that would include a deck overlooking the pool and the new poolside pavilion.
Designing for indoor-outdoor lifestyle living
I have had a great deal of experience in assisting clients whose outdoor living and playing area is not connected to their home. it makes a substantial difference to a families use of the outdoor space if it is linked to the home and provides relaxing and entertaining facilities as well. If you are puzzling over how to better link your indoor living with your outdoor living, please give me (Dion) a call and we can discuss some solutions to your problem.
