Small internal renovation
The Gap Home Renovation
The Gap home renovation encompasses a new kitchen and dining zone to link with the outdoors by Brisbane Architects dion seminara architecture. Our clients desired internal renovations to be made to their home in The Gap to ensure functionality in all areas of the house. The ground floor was to have allowances made for two bedrooms, a separate living and kitchenette area. This space could then be used as a bed and breakfast by our clients as they desired.
An additional bedroom on the first floor could be used as a second living area when the downstairs rooms are not occupied. The first floor was also reorganised to improve the quality of living space upstairs and to utilise the view more effectively. The kitchen would be relocated to face the view off the new deck that would be built to link with the kitchen and living areas.
External works in The Gap home renovation included upgrading the driveway entry with an easier entrance and secure gates for vehicle and pedestrian entry. This will ensure quick, easy and secure access to the property for the homeowners and their guests. Streetscape enhancements and other external works included landscaping throughout (with heavier landscaping on the east for privacy), fencing (especially around the pool and the new deck), pool surround replaced, and deck platforms. Some external screening for protection from the harsh Western sun and insects was also recommended.
Art Deco / Hampton Style
All materials chosen for the renovation are to remain similar and complement the existing traditional elements of the existing home. An art deco/Hampton styling was incorporated throughout The Gap home renovation design to give the home a more inviting and classic styling.
