Corinda Home Addition

About the project

Project Summary

This project in Corinda involved the construction of a new carport, gatehouse, and front stair to a pre-1946 character home. Located in a character area, all additions were designed to meet council requirements and complement the existing architecture.

The carport provides covered parking while matching key elements of the original house, such as rooflines and materials. The gatehouse adds privacy and defines the entry point, and the new front stair improves access from the street. Each element was built to blend with the home’s character while improving functionality.

After, new hamptons carport.

The Design Brief

The clients came to us wanting to make their character home in Corinda more functional for their growing family. A key part of the brief was to create a dedicated space for their daughter as she got older, along with improving overall layout and access. It was important to them to maintain the home’s original charm and street appeal, while adding practical features like an additional room, better entry access, and secure off-street parking.
