The requirements for this Belmont home renovation included a new entertainment pavilion with a guest bedroom, separate terrace and kitchen, as well as a new ensuite/main bathroom and laundry.
A new wide terrace was built from the existing lounge and dining area. This space has a new insulated and lined skillion roof to maximise light and natural ventilation, taking advantage of the north-east breeze. For a higher degree of waterproofing, we included louvres and an inlay roof.
A new pavilion-addition accommodates one extra bedroom and a large entertainment room that flows out to a covered terrace overlooking the pool. The new entertainment and terraced areas relate to the existing pool location and the remainder of the backyard.
The majority of the new windows face north-east and are casement windows and louvres to capture maximum airflow.
Belmont is approx 12 km south-east of Brisbane CBD. The Belmont estate was created in 1876. Over time it grew and in 1901 became known as the Belmont Shire.
Homes in Belmont vary with luxury homes, Queenslanders with massive verandahs, and townhouses. If you are looking for a home on a large block, then Belmont may be right for you with its large property sizes.
