Balmoral Home Renovation

This Balmoral renovation included a contemporary streetscape enhancement with a new pavilion wing and improvements to the north-east aspect. The first floor of the existing home is to be retained as the bedrooms and study level. A new main bedroom will be located in the north-east corner with good light, breeze and views over the street. The old kitchen/meals area will now incorporate a new study/library. Overall this space is to have a contemporary look and feel with a reading area, a built-in corner bench and lots of windows on the north side.

The existing ground floor of this Balmoral renovation is to have a double garage storage and workshop space with room for a camper. The carport will also have enough room to securely air the camper as needed. Most of the storage will be concentrated around the edges of the garage space, excluding bike storage which will be housed in a small area. Behind the garage on the northern side will be entertainment, gym, musical instruments and children’s lounging/TV room. The addition of a  long bench in this room will provide space for computers and studying activities. On the southern side will be a laundry with laundry chute and plenty of storage. A utility space or mud room will be close to the garage. There will also be a guest room with built-in robe and private shower/basin and powder room.

The Balmoral renovation new addition has a very contemporary streamlined look, with some coloured glass incorporated. The new addition will house a new living area, comfortable and casual, a dining area and a large galley-styled kitchen with butler’s pantry. Volume gives this extension the feeling of plenty of space and simultaneously captures the northeast aspect. Furthermore, we will encapsulate the area with operable doors and windows, with insect screens and shutters for west-facing areas.
