Here’s how you can get your ultimate dream homeTips and Advice, New Homes, Services
Take a moment and picture your ultimate dream home. Now I don’t just mean a really, really nice home, I mean in your absolutely wildest dreams kind of home.
Picture it in as much detail as you can. Now you might not know the exact colour scheme or floor plan, but there are elements that I’m sure you can envisage.
So what does it look like? What does it have in it? What does the yard look like does it have a swimming pool? Is it an opulent swimming pool that commands attention or is it discrete, blending in with its surrounds? What are some of the key features of the interior of your home, things that give your home a level of luxury that deep down you wish you had? Think about what it is that your dream home has that your current home does not.
Now let me tell you how you can have everything you just dreamt of and more …
Staging and Master Planning
I have previously written about staging, which is where you renovate to the extent that you can afford right now and then do more as your finances allow. Staging is common practice for larger renovations but that’s not to say that it’s always done well by every architect, designer or builder. You see for staging to be successful it requires a high degree of master planning.
I have also previously written about master planning, which is where a renovation plan is created that takes into account both your current and future needs; but not in a vague, broad overview kind of way, but rather in an in-depth, step-by-step kind of way.
Why Master Planning is so important
Projects that are staged without sufficient master planning often look incomplete. The key to quality staging is ensuring that at the end of each stage the overall home looks blended and balanced. In other words, you shouldn’t notice that a stage has been completed and that there is more to go. At the end of any stage, the home should look finished even though you and I will both know that there are more stages to come.
And this is where master planning comes in. It’s catering for your changing lifestyle needs but doing so in such a way that your home will always look stunning and function beautifully at the end of each completed stage. Understanding this you can see now why those architects and designers who turn over projects quickly are not suited to this type of detailed planning work. Instead, they rush through and the results are often very noticeable at the end of their stages.
Back to your ultimate dream home
So as I was saying you can have the home of your dreams, but if you like to dream bigger than your current budget will allow your home will need to be built in stages, however, the planning for your ultimate home needs to be done right up front.
What you need to do is make an appointment to have a consultation with me so that we can explore your wildest dreams and start planning for your ultimate home. From there I can create the design of your perfect home with staging built into the plans so that you can start building your home at a manageable rate.
You need to start somewhere
I know some people put off starting on their ultimate home design, wanting to wait until they can afford to have everything done in the one home renovation. Well here’s the cold hard truth about that approach – often those people NEVER get started because they never quite manage to have the budget to do everything in one hit.
I told you I would tell you how you can have that dream home you pictured earlier, well it’s about getting started, getting the design created and the first stage built. You will be amazed at how quickly you will be in a position to move onto stage 2 and then stage 3 and before you know it everything that you thought was just wishful thinking will have become your reality. Best of all you will get the benefits and enjoyment of the improvements that each new stage brings.
But the key to successful staging is in the master planning that goes into it. And that’s an area where we at dion seminara architecture excel. So don’t put it off thinking that you’re not in a position to start on your dream home today.
