Upper Mt Gravatt Home Renovation

This Upper Mt Gravatt home renovation aimed to improve the client’s lifestyle through architectural designs that matched their needs.

Streetscape Enhancements | Upper Mt Gravatt Home Renovation

The front of the home needs to be upgraded. This is to give the house a fresh look and feel and a new lease of life. So, changes will include new fencing to the driveway against the pool and a pool fence to separate the pool from the house. The front fence will improve the overall streetscape look and feel. In addition, a new pedestrian entry path and refresh of the driveway surface needed.

An upgrade of the landscaping is required to enhance the streetscape. A roof is recommended over the front door and study windows, as well as a possible window screen in the living room and bedrooms. As a result, to reduce the heat load from the harsh western sun. New doors could be installed instead of windows off the entertainment room, with a sunshade incorporated over these doors.

A new single carport on the side boundary would improve parking capabilities, with a new garage door to improve the look of the current garage. Rendering and cladding options will be chosen based on the total look, feel, and colour scheme of the home.

Existing House Internal changes

A new study will be created in the front section of the garage area directly beside the entry. Whereas, the room under the rear deck will need to be demolished to make way for the new timber deck. As a result, new sliding doors would link the ground floor entertainment area to the backyard.

The laundry and bathroom on this level should be renovated over time to improve the look and feel and maximise the functionality of these important ground floor facilities. The ground floor walls and windows are designed to ensure a united outcome in their look and placement. A skylight is to be added to the first-floor hallway to improve natural light flow through the home.

Rear House Additions, Backyard

The new deck will replace the existing balcony and will have a new contemporary roof elevated high off the deck floor. Therefore, maximising light in the home. The new deck will have new balustrading, a lined insulated ceiling, and a new wide door to the internal living areas of the home. After that, new stairs will link the deck to the backyard, with a new concrete and tiled terrace to be located under the deck.

The eastern side of the home could be excavated, with the post on the corner of the balcony relocated (with the help of a beam), to create a large area poolside. Consequently, new tropical gardens are to be established along all the property’s boundaries, with a new location for the clothesline.
