Carindale Home Renovation

Architectural design

Carindale Renovation

This Carindale renovation project aimed to modernise the home, improve its liveability, and enhance its street appeal. To achieve this, we proposed introducing a number of contemporary elements and additions to complement the more traditional styling of the home.

The front of the home will be adorned with rendering and new cladding to bring a contemporary look and feel to this 1980s style property. The front fence will also be modernised, a new laser cut pedestrian gate will be installed, and the garden will be tailored to soften the property’s fence line.

Internal renovations

Project details

It is important to our client that we open up the ill-used living spaces of their home. We will, therefore, fuse the living, dining, and kitchen areas to create a free-moving floorplan that is bathed in natural light. A new butler’s pantry will also be added to the kitchen.

The covered outdoor area will also be repositioned to improve its link with the interior of the home. This will not only help blur the divide between indoor and outdoor living but will also make the area an ideal space for entertaining.

Because the current ‘rumpus room’ was underutilized by the owners, we also recommended this space is redesigned into two functional living areas.

A new private internal staircase will also be installed.

The first floor will feature a new ensuite for the main bedroom with his and hers robes and a large linen storage area. This floor will also be renovated to include a new main bathroom and study for the whole family to enjoy.

Suburb history

Carindale Architecture

Carindale was the name of a local housing estate in 1976 and became the official name of the suburb when it separated from Belmont in 1980. The name itself is a combination of “Carin” from the nearby suburb of Carina, and “dale” meaning valley. Carindale is located 10 kilometres east of the Brisbane CBD and borders Belmont, Carina, Carina Heights, Mackenzie, Mansfield, Mount Gravatt East and Tingalpa.
